    Overview

    The Alerton® VLX-PLATINUM is a management-level controller that offers more than triple the memory of the current VLX controller to accommodate more BACnet objects such as alarms, schedules and trendlogs as well as more room for DDC. With an increased processor performance, this controller also offers significantly improved DDC execution speed. The increased processor performance of the VLX-PLATINUM speeds up DDC execution: Field tests have shown speeds of up to seven times faster. Faster transactions enable the VLX-PLATINUM to gather trendlog data at a faster rate.

    The VLX-PLATINUM can communicate using both Ethernet and MS/TP, with Ethernet the much preferred communication LAN for this high performance controller. If connected using Ethernet, the MS/TP LAN supports up to 10 BACnet MS/TP devices on its MS/TP trunk. It offers peer-to-peer DDC capability, allowing system-wide or global exchange data, and provides global DDC management for the BACnet devices on the MS/TP trunk. Modem support on a PTP port allows dial-up connectivity to the VLX-PLATINUM, enabling remote management of the site. The VLX-PLATINUM features a sleek, new two-tone color cover that matches the BCM controllers.
