Notification Appliance Circuit Power Supply Panel

Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) power supply panels provide combinations of Class A (Style Z) or Class B (Style Y) NACs.

    Overview

Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) power supply panels provide combinations of Class A (Style Z) or Class B (Style Y) NACs. Each circuit has a total capacity of six or nine amperes per panel. These circuits may be programmed to activate by groups or various combinations by connecting to one or two existing Class A or B NACs with operating voltages ranging from 9 to 32V DC. Either a non-coded or a coded operation is possible. In addition, NAC power supply panels can provide a temporal pattern output from a non-coded input.

A unique feature allows for programmable synchronized outputs that are used for strobes and notification appliances by major manufacturers, including AMSECO®, Gentex®, Wheelock™, System Sensor®, and Faraday.

NAC power supply panels contain their own battery charger that is capable of maintaining batteries of up to 35Ah. The cabinet provides space for a set of 7Ah batteries. The larger batteries require a separate battery box. This power supply is supervised for ground fault, open circuits, over current, and low battery conditions.

These conditions light the appropriate trouble LED and automatically open the notification appliance circuit that is used to activate and to transmit a trouble signal to the main fire alarm control panel. The ground fault detection circuit may be disabled.

The unit contains a set of dry, Form C trouble actuated auxiliary contacts, rated 2.5A at 24V DC (resistive). The transfer of these contacts for AC power failure is programmable and can be delayed for a period of six hours. This delay feature may be disabled.

A power-limited, non-resettable, auxiliary power output is also available. To prevent the batteries from running low from the current devices (such as door holders), you can program the panel via a DIP switch and you can disconnect this output from the batteries, 30 seconds after the AC power failure.
